Kweisi Mfume will speak at Kent State's celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.

Former U.S. Rep. and NAACP President Kweisi Mfume will be the guest speaker at Kent State University's Ninth Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration 2:10-3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27. The theme of this year's observance is "Empowering the Individual, Strengthening the Community." The day begins at 1 p.m. with music, spoken word and dance performances at the Kent Student Center Kiva stage. Mfume will speak at the student center ballroom, 1085 Risman Plaza Drive.
