Lonnie Timmons III, The Plain DealerHomemade gnocchi, a side salad and bread from Bruno's Ristorante on West 41st Street in Cleveland. 216-961-7087
Bruno DiSiena was the executive chef at the Cleveland Browns training facility in Berea before somebody tried to move the team out of town. Instead of getting lost in the shuffle, DiSiena opened this restaurant and a catering business. It's famous for lasagna, but any pasta with red sauce will do. There are also chicken dishes, ravioli, gnocchi, veal, a steak and a burger. We especially liked the pasta forno, with pasta tubes, sausage, melted provolone and, just in case you miss your grandmother topping off your plate, a hard-boiled egg.
